Kit guides / OPWDD Self-Direction

Can OPWDD pay for computer classes?

Computer training is one of OPWDD's own community-class examples. The class still has to be public, non-credit, and instructional. A laptop, an app subscription, or a college certificate is a different request.

Class versus device versus software

The class is community class. A computer or tablet usually goes through Family Support, Assistive Technology, or another device route. Disability-related software is usually OTPS or AT.

Kit should not put all three on one invoice line because a library flyer mentioned computers.

One useful answer

Does a community-college catalog count?

A non-credit community course with a public fee can. A credit-bearing or certificate program generally cannot be an IDGS community class.
